Security Day Participation Rules
1. General Rules
Security Day is an ethical hacking competition; all participants must follow ethical guidelines and rules.
The competition consists of two rounds: an online qualifying round and an offline final round.
Participants must register before the deadline to be eligible.
Any violation of the rules will result in immediate disqualification.
2. Eligibility
Only students of SDU University can participate.
Participants must compete in teams of 2-3 people.
Participants must have a basic understanding of cybersecurity, cryptography, and problem-solving.
3. Competition Structure
First Round (Online):
Includes 20 CTF-based tasks and 30 multiple-choice/fill-in-the-blank/true or false questions.
Proctoring will be used to ensure fair play.
Top 30 participants will qualify for the second round.
Second Round (Offline):
Participants will solve advanced cybersecurity tasks in SDU’s labs.
Focuses on real-world security challenges, system configuration, and threat mitigation.
4. Prohibited Actions
Any form of cheating, including but not limited to:
Using unauthorized tools or resources.
Collaborating with other participants.
Impersonating another participant.
Attempting to disrupt the competition infrastructure.
Sharing or publishing solutions during or after the competition.
Any violation of ethical hacking principles, including unauthorized access to systems.
5. Technical Requirements
A stable internet connection is required for the online round.
Participants must use their SDU email for registration and competition-related communication.
Participants in the second round must bring their student ID for verification.
6. Scoring and Results
Scores will be based on the number of correctly solved challenges and the time taken.
In case of a tie, the participant who solved challenges faster will rank higher.
Results will be announced via Telegram and email.
7. Prizes
1st place: TryHackMe Premium (3 students for 3 months).
2nd place: TryHackMe Premium (3 students for 2 months).
3rd place: TryHackMe Premium (3 students for 1 month).
8. Code of Conduct
Participants must show sportsmanship and respect toward organizers and fellow participants.
Any harassment or misconduct will lead to immediate disqualification.
